YoungArts honors some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors in the arts. Approximately 6,000-8,000 students register for youngARTS each year. Up to 150 students are selected as youngARTS Finalists. Other recognition categories include Merit Awards and Honorable Mentions.

The Finalists are brought to Miami for youngARTS Week, an all-expense-paid week of master classes, showcase performances, exhibitions, enrichment programs, and final adjudications.

YoungArts also nominates 50 of the youngARTS Finalists to the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars to become Presidential Scholars in the Arts. Twenty of those nominees are then selected as Presidential Scholars in the Arts.

BTWHSPVA has had a number of students selected as Finalists each year.
